About Gate Valve
A gate valve is designed to start or stop the flow of liquid or gas by moving an internal gate into or out of the flow path. When fully open, it allows media to pass with low flow resistance; when fully closed, the gate seals against the valve seat to block the pipeline. Gate valves are typically used for applications where flow control is either fully open or fully closed, rather than throttling or regulating the flow.
How It Works
Gate valves work by moving a gate (typically a wedge or slab) into or out of the flow path. When the valve is open, the gate is lifted from the flow path, allowing fluid to pass with minimal resistance. When closed, the gate moves down and blocks the flow, seating tightly against the valve body.
